MFG Construction recognise how much Safety, Environmental and Quality aspects are fundamental in both the planning and delivery of projects and consequently we rank with equal importance.

Accordingly we have an Integrated Management System in place, which is compliant to 9001:2015, 14001:2015 and 18001:2007. Currently it is accredited to 9001:2015 with full accreditation expected following the Stage 2 Assessments of 14001:2015 and 18001:2007 at the end of September 2017.

Our overall aim is to continually improve all that we do by identifying different ways of working and streamlining business processes in order to raise our level of efficiency. Quality is fundamental in helping our business achieve this and delivering the highest possible standards and ‘Value for Money’ services to each of our customers.

As a consequence, we have an Integrated Management System (IMS) in place, which is compliant to 9001:2015, 14001:2015 and 18001:2007. Currently it is accredited to 9001:2015 with full accreditation expected following the Stage 2 Assessments of 14001:2015 and 18001:2007 at the end of September 2017.

Our IMS provides a rigorous framework to enable us achieve our commitment to continuous improvement. As well as providing a structure to ensure our employees fully comply with MFG Construction’s approved working practices, it also sets out a methodology to be sure that all work is carried out in a planned, methodical and efficient way. Across the business all our employees are strongly encouraged to participate in business improvement activities by putting forward their ideas on how to improve service delivery.

Through the IMS we are also able to identify all the appropriate resources needed and how they can be made available. We also ensure continuous reviews of all our systems and processes and measurements of our performance are undertaken on a regular basis. At the same time the directors have given their full commitment and backing for the implementation of any appropriate improvements idea.

Environment

Environmental protection is both a key and integral part of our company’s business philosophy and we are fully committed to protecting and preserving the environment to enable future generations to sustain their needs.

Our Environmental Policy and internal Environmental Management System provide a clear operating framework and guide for all our employees, sub-contractors and clients to operate within. To assist in the identification of the environmental aspects of all our activities, products and services we have developed and operate our Identification and Evaluation of Environmental Aspects and Impacts Procedure.

Annually, we set company Environmental Objectives and Targets for the year ahead and at the same time review previous year’s objectives/targets. On an on-going basis we assess our resource requirements, including specialist skills, technology and financial resources, in order to determine the continuing suitability, adequacy and effectiveness and to identify areas for improvement.

We currently hold ISO 9001 and our business goal is to the complete the Stage 2 Accreditation process for ISO 14001 and 18001 by the end of September 2017.

MFG accepts that its activities can have a significant impact on the environment and in recognition of this responsibility, we will strive towards achieving a more sustainable future by minimising any adverse environmental impact wherever possible.

Our key aim is to fully identify the impact of all our business processes and construction activities on all our key stakeholders, customers, employees, communities and the overall environment. Some of our top priorities include:

 

  • Full compliance with all environmental legislative and regulatory requirements when procuring goods, services and works
  • Encouraging a greater level of re-use and recycling of materials and resources and renewable energy, minimising the amount of waste to landfill
  • Reduction in carbon emissions and water consumptions
  • Evaluation of the performance of our suppliers in providing products and services which have minimal environmental impact
  • Promoting greater awareness both within our business and amongst our suppliers to develop a culture which fully supports sustainability
  • Due consideration to the Life Cycle perspective when purchasing Materials, Plant and Equipment
